Let's give a million!
| It
hardly seems like 50 years ago, does it? In just a few months, the Rutgers
Class of 1954 will celebrate its Golden Anniversary. As
members of a class that appreciated a Rutgers education as much as any
class ever did, we want to complement the reunion festivities with a special
class gift demonstrating that appreciation. Over the next few months,
members of the Class of 1954 Campaign Committee will be calling to ask
you to join them in making a special gift to celebrate this momentous
occasion.
There are many ways that you can contribute to the Class of 1954 campaign...an outright cash gift, five year pledges, annuities, insurance, a gift of stock or a will bequest. Already and in the coming weeks, you will have detailed information about these giving opportunities. Follow the links on this page to get a brief introduction to these different options as well as more detail on our specially targeted gift plans. Before you click on "Our Special Goal" let us give you some background that your reunion committee considered when selecting our class gift: We decided that we wanted to fund research in an area where Rutgers was strong, but needed support. Going in this direction was not only a break from the tradition of funding "things," but it made us a sort of a maverick which we thought was a good thing. We selected the Center for Biomaterials after listening to other Life Sciences areas because we felt it was doing cutting-edge and innovative research that could lead to a higher quality of life for all humankind while benefiting Rutgers at the same time. We have an opportunity to be part of what might turn out to be a great breakthrough like streptomycin did in our time at Rutgers. So read about our gift and hopefully you will become as excited as we are that we can do great things together. All we need is your support. Every dollar received before June 30, 2004 will count towards our 50th Reunion Campaign. Your contribution may be allocated to a particular school or program of your choice or to the Class of 1954 Fund. We may have experienced campus life differently, but we know that our fulfillment of rewarding personal and professional lives was, in great part, due to our outstanding educational experiences. Now
is the time for us to leave a legacy for excellence, individually and,
as a class, to help ensure that future generations are prepared for
the challenges in the years ahead. |
